The Norsemen who come into the season with a new coach in Mike Kasten who even though he is new to the head coach position isn’t new to Valhalla as he has served in the program for quite a few years and looking to instill new spirit into the program.

Unfortunately for Valhalla, they had the task of opening up against one of the top contenders in the County and also in Division III in the Centurions.

For the Centurions Gunnar Gray and Casey Granfors who are both over six feet tall posed a huge mismatch for the Valhalla defense and right away Gray took advantage as he found Granfor a deep pass in which he was able to scamper to the house to make it 7-0. The Centurions would go on to build their lead to 20-0 thanks to a couple more touchdown strikes by Gray to Jefferson and Granfors.

However, Valhalla was able to get back into the contest for a minute as Kiare Worthy fielded the kickoff and zipped his way past all the Centurion defenders for a 96-yard return and score to make it 20-7.

University City wasn’t having any of the closeness as they took advantage once again and Gray torched the Norsemen defense for a couple more touchdown strikes to give the Centurions a 34-7 lead.

Valhalla in the second half would strike first as Kegan Baker would punch his way into the end zone for a touchdown to make it 34-14. University City added
