CRAWFORD 35, EL CAJON VALLEY 0

San Diego – The Crawford Colts who have been on hard times lately were able to completely dismantle the Braves of El Cajon Valley in a contest played at Breitbard Stadium on the campus of Hoover High.

The reason why the game was played at Hoover is because the Colt’s new stadium is under construction and won’t be open until sometime in October.

Early on both teams matched each other evenly holding one another but that would change in the second quarter when Ali Musa would catch a 26-yard strike to give Crawford a 7-0 lead.

Colts leading rusher Niko Perry would extend Crawford’s lead on a 32-yard scamper to end zone to make it 14-0 right after the Colts had forced a Braves turnover. Another Colts stop of the Braves on fourth down gave them the ball. Crawford took full advantage again and marched down the field where Musa again would catch another TD pass to make it 28-0.

Interestingly enough some of the Crawford players were on the San Diego Prep Insider Podcast and quarterback Shawn Balala confidently stated that they would win by 20 points over the Braves.

Balala had quite a day for himself as he finished with three touchdown passes

With the victory the Colts move to 4-0 and are off to their best start in a season since 2013 when they finished 12-1.
