What a way to end a season. Not just a season but a prep career.  To win a State Crown will be a memory that will never go away for a group of girls from West Hills High school and will be one for the ages.

For the first time ever the West Hills girls soccer program can claim they are the best of the best in Division II. On Saturday they traveled all the way up to Los Angeles to take on No. 2 Mira Costa with one goal in mind and that was to finish what they had started. Indeed they did as four-year veteran Gianna Creighton along with three of her teammates celebrated in the end.

Creighton was able to set up both goals for the Wolf Pack as she drew a crucial foul in the 16th minute of the opening half which led to a penalty kick that would be converted by Maliah Wirsig to give the Pack a 1-0 lead.

Leading with a one-goal advantage with over five minutes remaining till the intermission the Pack were able to strike again as Creighton found Kacey Bishop who blasted into the net to extend the lead 2-0 at the break.

Mira Costa was able to pull within 2-1 with 15 minutes to go in the contest but that would be as close as they would get as Daisy Contreras was rock solid in goal and held Mira Costa to preserve the victory.

West Hills who last won a Division II Section Crown in 2010 lost in the San Diego Section Open Division semifinals to eventual Champions Carlsbad earned a berth in the State Playoffs and stormed their way as they won their State Title setup contests in dramatic fashion of either penalty kicks or overtime. The Wolf Pack also won a CIF Section Title in 2002.

The Wolf Pack with the victory finishes their magical season 15-8-5.
