El Cajon – The Granite Hills Eagles last week claimed a share of the Grossmont Valley League Crown and this week accomplished the task of an outright crown as they steamrolled the El Cajon Valley Braves 45-0.

Granite started the firstworks first as Jacob Siegfried called his own number and weaved his way through the Braves defense all the way to the house for the 33-yard score. Granite would go up 14-0 as Siegfried would air it out to Chris Hamilton who rammed his way for the score.

It wasn’t just the offense that got into the statistical act on the night as the defense had multiple sacks from Noah Espinoza and Jaden Longoria who bum rushed their way through the Braves offensive line.  The Eagles would go up 21-0 on a Siegfried pass to Dylan Rutter for 14-yards after the Eagles forced a turnover via an interception by Josh Fechter.

The lead would be extended for the Eagles as the Braves would contribute via a bad snap which incurred a safety to make it 23-0. Granite Hills would score again, this time on a Bryan Anderson scamper in the third quarter.

Now with a comfortable lead, Siegfried would exit the contest and in came Chris Gonzalez. He would connect with his brother David Gonzalez for a 44-yard strike. Granite extended their lead as once again the Braves would contribute to the score via a safety.  They would add more points via a couple of field goals.

The Eagles have now won the last 9 times in this rivalry.

With the win the Eagles will wait out their fate for the Division II playoffs while the Braves will wait out theirs in Division V.
