It was a semi-special night out at Valhalla (0-10, 0-5) as it was their Senior night but also a special guest was honored to help with the coin toss.

The special guest to help with the coin toss was Hector Paredes (Eric’s Dad) of the Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation.  He was there to help plug the foundation’s event which will be a free heart screening event at Valhalla on November the 4th. So far the foundation has over 800 students registered to have their hearts screened.

After the special coin toss, the Granite Hills Eagles (9-1, 4-1) took over as they moved down the field to the 10-yard line when Cody Wilson would punch it in to make it 7-0. After an interception by Josh Fetcher the Eagles got the ball back on offense and took advantage. Quarterback Chris Ostreng found Jacob Setterberg for a 5-yard score to extend the lead.

After another defensive stop, the Eagles again would punch it in as Jayten Vanlandingham found his way into the end zone.

It was all Granite Hills in the second quarter as they kicked a field goal and thanks to three touchdown passes would push their lead to 43-0 at the intermission.

Recipients of those touchdown passes were Carlos Deleon who hauled in a 44-yarder, James Johnson who hauled one in from Justus McComb for 58-yards and finally Setterberg from McComb for 31-yards.

With the win, the Eagles will surely march into the Division II playoffs as a top contender as one of the top seeds.
