Valley Center – In a rematch from earlier in the season that saw Valley Center win 29-7 the Eagles seeded No.6 again traveled to take on the No. 3 Jaguars. This time the long ride home would be quite different.

Granite Hills got the scoring going early as they used a little trickery as Christopher Ostreng took the pitch and found Dylan Rutter on a 56 yard option pass which set up a 1 yard score by Jacob Siegfried to make it 7-0.

The Jaguars didn’t let the early score bother them as they were able to march down the field and match to tie it at 7-7. However the Eagles were able to answer the tying score and retake the lead 14-7 thanks to a Tyler Gonzalez 4 yard score.

Valley Center would actually score the next 13 points to take a 17-14 lead but Sigfried would strike again as he was able to find Ray Curo for a score. The Eagles would extend their lead early in the third quarter as Bryce Christian zagged his way into the end zone for 9 yards to make it 28-17.

Valley Center however answered with a score on a 12-yard scamper by Mateo Sinohul. Granite would score again to lead 35-24 thanks to Siegfried who ran in a 3 yard score. The Jaguars would once again pull within a few points thanks to another score from Sinohul to make it 35-30.

On the night Sigfried threw for 124 yards on 6 of 8 passing and had a couple touchdown runs as well. The big guy Gonzalez ran for 70 yards and a score.

Offensively the Eagles finished with 358 yards on the ground on almost 50 carries on the night. With the win the Eagles have now won 9 in a row and will again face Steele Canyon but this time with a ticket to the Championship on the line.
