LA MESA – The NO. 3 team in San Diego the Helix Highlanders kept their talents to East County as they took on the Bonita Vista Barons in a non-league contest.

The Highlanders right away showed why they were the superior team as Carson Baker threw a 33 yard touchdown pass to Rashad Scott to make it 7-0. The Highlanders defense than took over as Scott was able to show why he is going to the University of Arizona when he picked off a Barons pass and high stepped it to the house for 52 yards for the score but the extra point was no good. Helix now led 13-0.

Not to be outdone was Isaac Taylor-Stuart who got in on the scoring act as he caught a Baker pass and then would score on a 25 yard run. Both times the Highlanders went for two and both times they were successful.
