Valley Center – The Granite Hills Eagles rode into the deep part of North County riding a winning streak and unfortunately couldn’t get it going as they fell to the Valley Center Jaguars.

The Jaguars last year when these two met in El Cajon was able to pull out the last minute victory so there was a little factor of that involved in the contest.

Granite Hills got things going first as running back Tyler Gonzalez was able to rumble his way for an 18-yard score to make it 7-0 early on. However the offense for the Jaguars woke up and was able to have their way with the Eagles defense.

Jaguars quarterback Rikki Mazzetti on the night was able to pick apart the Eagles defense as he threw for over 100 yards and a couple of scores. The running game of the Jaguars was able to do their thing against Granite Hills as Ryan McCown finished with two scores on the ground.

Unfortunately for the Eagles it wasn’t their night as the Jaguars picked off a couple passes in the fourth quarter of which both were clutch for the Jaguars in the 29-7 victory.

The win for the Jaguars is big especially when It comes to CIF Division II playoff seeding as Valley Center will have an upper hand when it comes to home field advantage.
