Santee – It wasn’t all Madden numbers for the Christian Patriots Friday night out in Santee as they took on the Santana Sultans and they didn’t have to be in their impressive 48-7 victory.

In the first two games of the season the Patriots had put up ungodly Madden like numbers offensively by scoring 60 and 62. They could have done that though in their first game against local competition as they moved up and down the field at will.

Led by Bradley Jeremiah who in the first two games threw for almost 1,000 and 14 touchdowns, the Patriots in the first quarter took advantage of three of the first four possessions in building a 21-0 lead.

Jeremiah on the night showed why he is one of the most accurate passers in the county as he systematically sliced and diced the Sultans defense with his 30 of 36 pass attempts and three touchdown strikes.

The running game for the Patriots got involved as well as Javier Jimenez carried four times for 59 yards and scored twice. He also caught a touchdown pass. Pretty much all the receivers got their hands dirty on the night including Jesse Matthews who tallied 102 yards on 6 receptions and two scores. Nashom Carter who is considered the fastest of the bunch hauled in 81 yards worth of catches on 7 catches, plus he made a big special teams play with his 70 yard punt return for a score.

The Sultans actually held Christian without a first down on their last few possessions just before halftime. However that didn’t last as Christian came out for the second half and continued their dominance which made the fourth quarter a running clock.

For Santana, Josh Oedewaldt finished 18 of 32 for 187 yards and Dale Genshaw had the lone Sultan score when he ran one in.
