ROUNDUP: PATRIOTS CALM THE STORM WHILE EL CAPITAN RUNS INTO WARHAWKS

2017 EAST COUNTY PREP FOOTBALL

By Adam Paul

The Christian High Patriots traveled to an interesting named place called Hurricane, Utah and they were able to calm the storm on their way to big victor 60-38.

Patriots quarterback Bradley Jeremiah on the night put himself in the San Diego CIF Record book with his offensive performance.

On the night he accounted for eight touchdowns including seven through the air which tied him for fourth in history and also tied for first in East County history with the likes of Lon Sheriff, Abraham Muheize and Tanner Rust. Yardage wise he threw for 532 yards which put him fifth all-time and second in East County history.

His receivers sure loved the fact that the Patriots were throwing the ball as Alexander Gonzalez was a recipient of six balls for 207 yards, including a big 87-yarder for a score. The sophomore Alonzo Richardson hauled in eight receptions for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

The issue that occurred for the Patriots was the fact that they couldn’t stop the run as they allowed 383 yards on almost sixty attempts which included a 211 yard performance by Jaron Cordova.

Madison 47, El Capitan 18 – The Madison Warhawks who won a CIF and State title a year ago did the damage early and often against the El Capitan Vaqueros as they won easily 47-18.

Despite the adjustments made by the Vaqueros in the second half the game was out of reach but they were able to get points on the board.

One of those scores was a nice touchdown strike by Wick Hauser to Star Iuli.

However Hauser just couldn’t get going as he was harassed by the Madison defense the entire game.
