EL CENTRO – The top seeded Eagles of Southwest El Centro showed the visiting Mount Miguel Matadors why it is tough to come down to the Valley and play and especially win.

The contest would be pretty much essentially decided in the second quarter just before half time as the Eagles score multiple touchdowns. All everything running back for the Eagles Tyler Saikhon found the end zone on two separate occasions to give the Eagles a 25 point lead at intermission.

It wasn’t all bad for the Matadors on the night as their ground game did some damage. Tailback Shemar Greene tallied over 200 yards on the night.

The Eagles would take an early 14-0 lead as Cameron Jungers found Jason Holguin for a 11 yard score. For Mount Miguel, Jarvis Heard found the end zone on a punt return.

In the second half, Greene would find the end zone but it was too little too late. On the defensive side of the ball for the Matadors, Santino Pacheco would snag two interceptions on the night and C.J. Jackson snagged 2 quarterback sacks on the evening.

For the Eagles, Saikhon tallied 3 touchdowns including an 80-yard scamper in the 39-21 victory.
