CENTRAL 6, EL CAPITAN 2

Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning the El Capitan Vaqueros would tie the game with two outs when Madison Rosales raced home on a wild pitch.

Central would again retake the lead in the top of the second and never relinquish it starting with an RBI double by Karmina Becerra to lead 2-1.

The Spartans would tack on four more runs in the top of the third inning which included RBIs by Janyssa Martin and Jewellea Rodriguez.

The Vaqueros wouldn’t string together anything threatening until the bottom of the seventh inning when Hannah Davis and Maddie Taylor hit back-to-back singles to lead things off. Late in the inning, Davis would score on an error by Central.

Martin for the Spartans would fan 12 on the day while only giving up 2 runs on 7 hits while walking 3 in her 7 inning complete-game victory.

MAR VISTA 4, HELIX 0

The Mar Vista Mariners bookended their runs against the Helix Highlanders with two runs in the bottom of the first inning and later two more in the sixth inning.

Two RBI singles for the Mariners would give them a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Helix tried to scratch something together in the top of the second inning with base hits by both Kasey Castro and Isabella Bordine but the Mariners would get out of the jam.

Despite having 6 hits on the day the Mariners pitching really did the job as they got the outs when needed to end threats and innings.
