SULTANS CONTINUE WINNING WAYS AGAINST THE BRAVES

SANTANA 2, EL CAJON VALLEY 1

Always a tough place to play the Santana Sultans (8-2-1) were able to pull out the tough road victory over the El Cajon Valley Braves with a goal in the second half to break a 1-1 tie.

Santana who has now won 2 games in a row and 6 out of their last 7 contests was able to strike first as Lane Dukes blasted one past the goalkeeper for his fifth goal on a breakaway to make it 1-0.

The Braves were able to come back and tie the game at 1-1 in the first half to force a tie at the intermission.

With the score tied 1-1 in the second half, Omar Nuristani took a pass from Dukes from 25 feet out or so and blasted a rocket shot that went into the back of the net to give the Santana a 2-1 lead. The defense for the Sultans did the rest and was able to keep the Braves off the board to preserve the victory.

With his goal in the second half, Nuristani now has 7 on the season and Dukes has 4 assists.

Santana will take a few days off and will look to continue their winning ways on December 26th in the San Diego County Cup when they take on the Bonita Vista Barons in a game to be played at Otay Ranch at 12 noon.
