SANTANA 2, UNIVERSITY CITY 1

What a difference a day makes as the Santana Sultans were able to rebound from their loss the night before to beat the Centurions in a Parker Cup Tournament contest.

Santana in the first half took advantage of one of their opportunities as they were able to convert to go up 1-0. Neither team would do anything on offense for the rest of the first half so at the break the Sultans clung to the one goal lead.

Another opportunity for the Sultans presented itself in the second half and bang they were up by two goals which is huge in soccer. The Centurions who were obviously stunned finally broke through with a goal of their own but it was a little too late in the contest to make any kind of comeback.

The Sultans on the night had 6 shots on goal and on the other end once again Tim Caraveo in net did the job as he made 5 saves in the contest.

Scoring for the Sultans were Sam Odenkirk and Lane Dukes and Colton Snipes, Ben Sampson each assisted on both goals.

The win was huge for the Sultans as University City was a Division II school last season. Santana will now take on Fallbrook and with a win will be in the semi-finals.
