EAST COUNTY PREP BOYS SOCCER

SANTANA 4, FALLBROOK 2

The Sultans took the Fallbrook Warriors in a Parker Cup tournament contest and were able to come away with the pretty convincing victory to advance in the tournament.

The offensive fireworks for both teams started in the first half as the Warriors were able to score a goal but that didn’t deter the Sultans as they put the pressure on and netted three goals to lead 3-1 at the break.

Fallbrook in the second half would add another goal but the Sultans matched that with one of their own goals to lead 4-2 and that is where it would finish at.

Santana really turned the heat up on the Warriors as they got off eight shots and were able to put away four of those in the back of the net.

Scoring for the Sultans was Senior Captain defender Ben Sampson who had a goal on a penalty kick while the big game belonged to Junior Omar Nuristani who turned in a hat trick with three goals. Helping to control the offensive attack were Nathan Hughes and Lane Dukes as well as Kyler McPhillips as each had a hand with an assist on the scoring. Both Hughes and Dukes both controlled the center midfield which contributed to the offensive help.

The other key component to the win was the goaltending of Tim Caraveo who despite giving up the two goals had 8 saves on the day.

So with the win the Sultans have now won 2 games in a row and will now face the Bishop’s Knights on Monday.
