SUN DEVILS CLAIM VICTORY IN HARD FOUGHT FASHION

In a game that went down to the wire the Mount Carmel Sun Devils were able to outlast the Santana Sultans in the last game of the Armstrong Memorial/Horseman Automotive Tournament on Friday.

Both teams went at it in the first quarter and it showed as the score was 13-13 after the first period. For the Sultans, Brandon Simmons would lead the charge as he canned 9 points.

Santana would go onto lead at the break 21-20.

In the second half the Sun Devils picked things up in the third quarter as they would lead 36-33 after outscoring the Sultans 13-11.

Desmond Williams in the fourth quarter for the Sultans nailed a couple of three balls and the game would come down to a loose ball on the floor as the clock would strike zero.

Simmons led the Sultans with 13 while Williams contributed 12 points.

With the win the Sun Devils improve to 4-2 while the Sultans fall to 2-5 and will resume play on December 11th down in the South Bay at Otay Ranch.
