The Valhalla Norsemen wanted to make sure the Falcons of Scripps Ranch didn’t have revenge on their minds and also to have a long bus ride home. Both were accomplished as The Norsemen defeated the Falcons 33-20.

Like a lot of places across the county it was the penalties that came into play as the home team accumulated nine of them for 90 yards which was more than their opponent.

However this didn’t deter the Norsemen as their stingy defense took center stage. It was senior Dylan Marsh who started things off along with sophomore Ethan Ferkich on a stuffed run.

After a couple more stops the Norsemen got the ball back on their own 46-yard line. However the offense stalled and again came the defense.

The defense was able to force a fourth down for the Falcons but than a bad snap occurred on the punt attempt which sailed out of the end zone giving Valhalla a 2-0 lead.

Valhalla would score again to go up 9-0 on a Dennis Dahlin 30-yard strike to Matthew Bazzi who juked a defender and worked his way for the score.

The lead would be extended to 16-0 Valhalla on a double pass from Dahlin to Bryan Madriz who found Cole Lewis open who would scamper to the house.

Scripps Ranch finally got on the board in the second quarter on a 7-yard strike followed by a successful 2-point conversion to make it 16-8.

After a field goal by Valhalla to make it 19-8 the Falcons scored again to pull within 19-14 with about five minutes remaining in the third.

Ty Schimke would score two touchdowns via a 57-yard scamper up the sideline after hauling in a Dahlin pass and also a 63-yard punt return.
