On a night when a multi-score night by a player is usually enough to garner the victory the Morse Tigers spoiled that notion with a last minute score to come away with the 26-19 victory.

Morse got on the board first quickly as they led 6-0 on a 72-yard scamper by A.J. Vilasayne who this season transferred from Helix High.

The Tigers added another score when Tim Patrick took the direct snap and used his athletic ability to race to the end zone for a 12-0 lead with about seven and a half minutes left in the first half.

Mount Miguel finally broke through with a score to cut the Tiger lead in half 12-6 as quarterback Mugabe Miller kept it himself for a 7-yard score that capped a 10-play, 60-yard drive.

Morse would extend their lead to 20-6 in the third quarter when Montell Irby scored on a long run.

Mount Miguel trailed heading into the final period but wouldn’t go down without a fight as Miller took things into his own hands. He was able to pull the Matadors within 20-13 with a 4-yard score and he would also score again on another short run to pull within 20-19.

However the luck ran out on the Matadors when Irby was able to ice the game with another touchdown run to put the Tigers up for good.

On the night, Miller had over 200 yards passing and the running game was also decent for the Matadors as Shemar Green ran for the century mark.
