VALLEY LEAGUE: INGRASSIA DOMINATES ON THE MOUND WHILE NORSEMEN BATS EXPLODE

With both sides going back and forth the Valhalla Norsemen would finally break through with 16 runs over the fifth and sixth innings and starter Joseph Ingrassia (1-4, R, 2 RBI, 2B) would dominate on the mound out in Santee on Friday afternoon.

With the score tied at 0-0 in the top of the fifth inning the visiting Valhalla Norsemen finally struck the first blow when Aaron Lopez roped a triple to clear the bases and score Ethan Dunnam, Trey Henige (4-5, 3R) and Luke Clark (1-4, 2R) to make it 3-0, they would go onto add a couple more runs later in the inning to push their lead to 5-0.

Leading 5-0 the Norsemen took advantage of opportunities in the top of the sixth inning starting with a Riley O’Sullivan (2-5, 2R, RBI) single which scored Dunnam to make it 6-0, after back-to-back singles by Henige and Clark to load the bases Lopez would draw a walk to bring home O’Sullivan making it 7-0, another walk and base hit would make it 8-0.

The next batter Kyle Casper (2-3, R, 4 RBI, 2 2B) would double in both Lopez and Mario Johnson to make it 11-0, Ingrassia followed with another double to plate both Ryan Perot and Casper to push the lead to 13-0. Valhalla would go on to score three more runs in the inning to round out their scoring including a steal of home plate by Henige.

Ingrassia over the final couple of innings would give up a base hit and a walk before retiring the necessary batters to end the game and claim the victory.

For the Pack, Kai Dennis would toss 4.1 innings giving up 5 runs on 7 hits while walking 4 and striking out 7.

Ingrassia once again was dominant in picking up the victory as he went 7 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits while walking 2 and fanning 14 on the day.
