SAN DIEGO – The Mount Miguel Matadors did their best to stay in the ball game with the NO. 2 Madison Warhawks as they only trailed 6-0 after the first quarter. Unfortunately the offense for the Warhawks woke up.

In the second quarter Mario Alves for Madison would throw three touchdowns enroute to a 28 point effort for the Warhawks as they led 34-0 at the break.

Alves through the air was able to complete 8 of 14 passes for 210 yards and the 4 scores of which all came in the first half. The big target for Alves was Junior Daniel Stokes who torched his way to scores of 66 and 70 yards.

The ground game also did the work against the Matadors as they tallied 255 yards on the ground including three players garnering almost 75 yards each.

Mount Miguel was just overwhelmed by the Warhawks defense who limited the Matadors to 67 offensive yards in the first half and 233 yards overall.

The bright spot for the Matadors was senior quarterback Mugabe Miller who threw for 143 yards and two scores. One of the recipients of a Miller touchdown pass was Santino Pacheco who caught a 79 yarder.
