VISTA 95, WEST HILLS 66 – In Horseman Tournament action the West hills Wolf Pack took on the Vista Panthers who are considered a top 10 team in the countyand unfortunately ran into a buzz saw.

Vista in the first quarter really did some damage as Taurus Samuels drilled 3 3-pointers to help the Panthers race out to a 26-12 lead after one quarter. The Pack tried to keep in it in the first as Cameron Barry scored 7 points but West Hills couldn’t do anything else on offense.

Things didn’t get any better for West Hills as the Panthers in the second quarter were able to increase their lead by more than double digits thanks to both Samuels who scored 10 points and Jordan Hilstock who also poured in 10 points in the quarter. Unfortunately for the Pack in the second quarter besides Barry who scored 12 points the rest of the team only scored 7 total points. The Panthers would go on to outscore the Wolf Pack 28-19 to extend their lead to 54-31 at intermission.

The Panthers in the second half only got better on offense as they outscored West Hills 31-18 in the third quarter but the Wolf Pack in the fourth outscored Vista 17-10.

Leading the way for the Panthers Hilstock who punched in 32 points including 5 three points while his teammate Samuels scored 21 points.

For West Hills it was the shooting of Barry that was able to keep them in the game for a while as his scoring efforts consisted of 39 points and burying 5 three pointers and shooting 14 of 16 from the free-throw line. Also scoring for the Pack was Michael Totah and Adam Dillon who each scored 7 points on the night.
